Natural interactions for medical image analysis

Interaction-Design Master Thesis

with one comment

My name is Jannes Peters. I am a student of Interaction-Design. This is a blog about my Master Thesis at Umea Institute of Design, Sweden. I am working closely with Philips Design Healthcare on the Radiologists Reading Room, based on a project Philips presented on RSNA in 2007.

project description:

How could the radiology department look like in the future?

Body scanning technologies, our healthcare systems and human-computer-interaction methods are developing fast. This project suggest a solution to bring these trends together in the radiology department.

Goal of this project was to develop a natural and intelligent interface for radiologists. The individual workspace of a radiologist, the Radiologists Reading Room, was the main focus during this work, but also how they exchange and share knowledge.

The final outcome from this thesis is a system called Nexight. It combines a highly specialised multitouch with a real 3D interface.

For any feedback and questions please just comment or email me at and if you are interested in my work make sure to check out my portfolio.

  1. Hi Jannes:
    nice works!
Now we are designing a new 21.3″ medical LCD display. Could you give us some advices on product form or usability issues?
